About ARMA International
“What does ARMA stand for? Originally, ARMA was the acronym for the Association of Records Managers and Administrators. Over the years, we have seen a broadening of the profession as records management has become a recognized and integral part of information governance, which is key to doing business. To reflect the changing environment and this "expansion" of the profession, the association's Board of Directors decided to discontinue using ARMA as an acronym and adopted "ARMA International" as a general descriptor of the association.” For more information, visit the ARMA International website at: www.arma.org.
About ARMA Alaska
Our Chapter is a member of the Great Northwest Region of ARMA International. We have approximately 70 members representing large and small businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations located in the entire state of Alaska. Our members represent a diverse range of records management professionals working in the public and private sectors throughout Alaska.
ARMA Greater Anchorage Chapter was formed in 2003 to promote and advance the professional competency of its members to enable them to and advance the improvement of records management and related fields through study, education, research, training and networking. In 2013, the Board decided to extend its leadership, expertise and networking opportunities and share and learn from others statewide; therefore, the name of the Chapter changed its name to the Alaska Chapter and provide access to monthly meetings via tele/video conference.
Our chapter meets monthly (except summer and a Christmas hiatus) to discuss a variety of records management and related issues. We invite you to join the Chapter and realize the benefits that ARMA International will bring! Don’t forget to add Alaska Chapter to your application!
